1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using ThriftSnap: AI Resale Value (the "App", referred to throughout as ThriftSnap), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. What ThriftSnap Does

ThriftSnap lets you photograph clothing items, uses artificial intelligence to attempt to identify them (brand, style, era), and provides an estimated resale value range. Estimates draw on publicly available marketplace listings and the AI's own general knowledge of resale values.

3. Estimates Are Not Guarantees

• All valuations shown in the App are estimates only. They are generated automatically from AI identification and current marketplace listing prices, and are provided for informational purposes only.
• Estimates are not appraisals, not offers to buy, and not a guarantee that any item can be sold at any particular price.
• AI identification can be wrong. Item condition, authenticity, and market demand — which materially affect real-world value — cannot be reliably determined from a photograph.
• Estimates vary in how they are produced, and the App labels which method was used. Some are calculated from current listings; some are the AI's own estimate where no comparable listings were found, which is a recollection rather than observed market data. Where two methods disagree the App shows both rather than choosing for you.
• Listing-based estimates reflect what sellers are asking, which is not necessarily what items sell for.
• You agree not to rely on the App's estimates for financial, insurance, investment, or resale decisions without independent verification.

4. Your Photos and Content

• You retain ownership of the photos you take.
• By using the scan feature, you grant us a license to store, process, and transmit your photos to third-party AI and pricing services as needed to provide the App's functionality.
• You agree not to upload photos that are unlawful, infringe others' rights, or contain personal information of others.

5. Accounts

• An account is required to scan items, and to save them to your closet.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

• ThriftSnap offers a free tier with a limited number of scans for the lifetime of the account — this is a one-time allowance, not a monthly one, and it does not reset. The free tier also allows a limited number of saved closet items and no favorites. A paid subscription ("ThriftSnap Pro") provides a monthly scan allowance, raises the closet limit, unlocks favorites, and allows marking items as sold. A higher subscription ("ThriftSnap Max") provides a larger monthly scan allowance and removes the limits on saved closet items and favorites entirely. Both paid plans have a monthly scan limit - "unlimited" on the Max plan refers to saved closet items and favorites, not to scans. Current limits for each tier are shown in the app.
• Subscriptions are billed through Apple In-App Purchase. Payment, renewal, and cancellation are governed by Apple's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed in your Apple ID settings.
• Cancelling stops the subscription from renewing; it does not end it early. You keep the access you paid for until the end of the current period.
• Deleting your ThriftSnap account does not cancel your subscription. Billing is handled entirely by Apple, so we cannot cancel it for you. If you delete your account while a subscription is active, Apple will keep charging you until you cancel it yourself in your Apple ID subscription settings. Cancel there first, then delete your account.
• If your closet holds more items than the free tier allows when your paid access ends, you will be asked to choose which items to keep. Items you do not keep are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. We will not make that choice for you, but we also cannot restore items once deleted.
• Scans that are not saved to your closet are deleted automatically after a period of time, along with their photos.
• Except where required by law or by Apple's policies, payments are non-refundable.

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including AI providers, eBay's marketplace data, publicly available exchange-rate data, and Apple and RevenueCat for subscription management. We do not control any of these services, and their availability or accuracy may change without notice.

eBay is a trademark of its respective owner. ThriftSnap is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by eBay, and reads only publicly available listing information.

Prices shown in currencies other than US dollars are converted using third-party exchange-rate data and are approximate. Underlying values are held in US dollars.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: reverse engineer the App; use the App to build a competing dataset or service; abuse, overload, or attempt to bypass usage limits; or use the App for any unlawful purpose.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP — INCLUDING DECISIONS MADE BASED ON VALUE ESTIMATES.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
